Top 5 Friday: Games to Play Instead of Going to Prom

Did anyone bring extra hairspray? I'm all out!

Prom.  One word, four letters and months and months of anticipation. Is it worth it?  Some might say it is, however most (or maybe just me) think it can be overrated.  So why bother with the dress, tux, flowers, limo or fancy new top hat when you can play free online games at AG!  It’s a win/win if you ask me.  Save money and play games.  What more could you ever ask for?

High School Detective - High School drama at it’s all time drama-est. Rip Powers, the star quarterback is taken ill when someone put honey in his protein shake! OMG.  Now he can’t play in the big game and you must solve the case! Why?  Because the hottest chick in school is counting on you…

Crush The Castle Players Pack - Distraction just got medieval. Crush the castle and all it’s inhabitants.  Can you do it in one toss from the trebuchet?

Monkey Go Happy - Monkey got a case of the sads.  Make the Monkey happy.  Happy Monkey means happy you.  Don’t cry Monkey!

Best Hockey Game - ‘Tis the season for hockey playoffs!  Pass and shoot and WIN!  It’s just like being on the ice, except you ‘re not cold or on skates or getting beat up… So actually it’s nothing like the real thing except that it is awesome and fun and warm and not on skates.

Dragon Slayers 2 - If stick figures can do something well it’s slaying dragons.  They are also decent assassins but that is a different game entirely.  Anyhoo, slay them dragons.  Aim and shoot and watch out because they are mad!  They know they are going down so get them before they get you.

And there you have it folks, five fun games to play instead of going to Prom.  However I can’t promise that I wont be at home playing these games in my formal wear.  What can I say, I’m classy like that.

Cats sure do love the weekend!

It’s Friday and I am excited. For the last five days we have all worked our butts off and now we can get ready for the beautiful weekend that lies ahead. Whether you have had school or work, we know you have been working hard too and we commend you for getting through another week! We know your weekends are important so we don’t want you to have to waste any time games that wont give you that fun time you need. That’s why  the awesome AG blog staff  and myself have picked these great games to keep you from being bored and to ensure you are having fun all weekend long. Check out our picks below and feel free to tell us what you think!

Bunch
Megan: A race against the clock and colored balls? I’m in! Bunch three or more balls together and hit collect. The bigger the bunch the more time adds to the clock. But keep an eye out, because the seconds are ticking away.

Sara and the Sarcastic Creatures
Anya:There’s something about little critters demanding coffee and insulting me while doing so that tickles my funny bone. Sara and the Sarcastic Creatures- challenging and full of cheap shots!

Demolition Dude
Christina: Ok so Demolition Dude not only has all of the elements of a super fun game but it also has a heart warming story that really gets to you in the opening screen of the game. It only makes you want to destroy stuff even faster so you can see the little mullet man succeed!

Gone To The Dogs
Ben: So I know I covered puppy games yesterday but Gone To The Dogs can be enjoyed be even non dog lovers! Also I still have puppy on the mind. I get mine tomorrow! Ahhhhhh!

Canabalt
Zip: I pick Canabalt. And now I tell you why. Dude. OK, first, there’s only one thing to do, one button to press. Jump. That’s it. Which sounds like it could suck, but no, it’s awesome. A little guy (who many think looks like Michael Jackson) is running. He runs through windows, he runs across rooftops, he runs. And jumps: that’s YOUR job. Jump from one building to the next, jump over boxes, jump through more windows.

The farther you go, the faster you go. This is the secret sauce – the better you do, the harder it gets, until you realize that you’ve been clicking “Play Again” for like two hours. When you do decide to play Canabalt, bring a snack. You’re not going anywhere for a while.

High School Tower Defense

I’m a puzzle gamer, there I said it. I love puzzles. And I love Untangle! It reminds me of untangling a necklace which is secretly one of my favorite activities. I have tried to walk away from the knotted heap and you know what, I can’t. I also can’t walk away from this game. The amount of satisfaction I get from completing a task such as untangling a necklace or a few lines on a computer screen is astronomical and you can have that feeling too! Just move the dots so the lines don’t touch and try to walk away.

Escape the Red Giant

I am obsessed with this game. I now have dreams about stars going supernova. It took me a month to get past Saturn. It’s sort of like a hop-to-the-top game, but with angular momentum. Try landing on a moon with your L/R key already hit; you can whip up some profound speed and relaunch. But it’s HARD! I’m nowhere close to hitting the leader boards…

A game that combines cavemen, aliens, and PunchOut, you say?? Why, yes, we have that on AddictingGames with Capital Caveman! While yes, simplistic, this game provides a sense of awesomeness , as you repeatedly make a caveman opponent take a beat-down. With three modes, Capital Caveman fulfills the need for every experience of gamer, and has fantastic art!Seriously, guys, this game is awesome. And make sure you play extra hard on the Forest level. That dude is mad scary!

When it comes to quenching my gaming thirst I need a fast game with clean style! That’s why I spent countless hours playing Cyclomaniacs! This awesome racer puts you up against other people in a variety of crazy places. Each race has it’s own unique backgrounds which really keep me from getting to bored. I love the art and the music is kinda fun too. For a super fun racer with premo art, you can;t go wrong with Cyclomaniacs!

Blade Striker

This is another great action style shoot um up game that really just makes me excited! My inner Rambo takes over as you make your way through hostile jungles taking out enemies at every turn! When i need to get pumped up, I can always count on Blade Striker and now you can too!
